:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Tim Emmons -- A definite must read!! : This is one of those mysteries, from the very start you know you're in for a treat. Miller doesn't disappoint at all. Different than the Jake Nobel, not as much action, but he puts his trademark twists in there you never even expect, from the action right down to the variety and plethera of characters, and some differences that just make this book even more amazing. I'm not spoiling this but you gotta read this one. I fell down this rabbit hole earlier last week and rang in the new Year as one of the first books I completed this year. It's definitely something you need to take a look at if you like your mysteries with more than enough intrigue to keep you up well past your bedtime. Enjoy, and happy reading!! - 5.0 out of 5 stars from cathleen sable -- THE DEVIL INDEED! : If you’re looking for a modern detective story with some interesting twists and characters, The Devil His Due is a perfect combo of both. A main character with autism brings great insite into how that person perceives things their way, as to the way we would expect. The characters interact well, and it’s nice to see they learn important things from each other and adjust their way of thinking. There’s humor as well, which adds a light touch to the premise of THE DEVIL DID IT, which would scare the heck out of anyone. Read it, and you’ll be glad you did. The descriptions were great ~ I felt I used more senses in imagining than usual and I really saw them in context ~ Mackenzie’s journal pages were inspired; they enhanced the first-person narrative with glimpses of her, too, not just Cole. A pentagram is burned into the floor, where will this lead. Cole is paired up with FBI Special Investigator Jessica Mackenzie who is autistic to follow the evidence. If you've ever worked with or dealt with a high functioning autistic person, you'll find this book very perceptive. Hopefully, this book will help readers understand the unique value hiring those with neuro diversity can add to the team. They have qualities regular brains don't have.
